Biography:

Marie H. Barter of Lewiston, Maine formally of Medford, Massachusetts passed away on July 27, 2025, at home. She was 86.

Marie was born in Boston, MA to the late Orris E. and Norma G. (White) Barter. She was raised and educated in Medford, MA and relocated to Lewiston, ME as a young adult. She had a successful career at Liberty Mutual Insurance before retiring with almost forty years of dedicated work. Marie was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and watched them regularly on television. She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid plastic canvas crafter. Marie loved to attend Holiday dinners with her family, always bringing her famous taco dip, and hosted the most memorable Fourth of July Parties. Nothing made Marie happier than seeing her family all together on July Fourth enjoying her pool. 

Marie is predeceased by her parents, brother Richard and her dear friend Eileen.

Marie was the beloved sister of Ann Crisafulli and her husband Justin of Hermon, ME. She was a loving Auntie to her nieces and nephews Paul, Justin III, Cathy, Brian and Lynne as well as nine great nieces and nephews. Marie is also survived by her dear cousin Ellie Bertolaccini, her sister-in-law Rita Barter and many cousins.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Lisa, Mary, Courtney, Molly, Edie, Daryll, Gary and many more for the compassionate care and friendship they provided to Marie.

A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday August 23, at Holy Family Church, 607 Sabattus St. in Lewiston at 11:00AM. Marie will be laid to rest with her parents at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford, MA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude or the Jimmy Fund.
