Date of Birth: December 26, 1962
Biography:
On Saturday, October 4th, 2025, Michael Thomas Ayers left this world to touch the face of God after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Michael Orin and Sylvia Sue Ayers, Michael grew up surrounded by family, pets, and adventure. His curiosity and drive led him from the plains of Texas to the Midwest and ultimately to the East Coast.
Michael proudly served his country in both the U.S. Army, as an artillery scout, and the U.S. Navy, as a small arms instructor for the Seabees. His time at the Naval Station in Brunswick, Maine, became a meaningful part of his life and later his home and final resting place.
An entrepreneur through and through, Michael built a successful painting business, taught martial arts, youth boxing, self-defense, practiced and taught myotherapy.
Michael and his former wife, Angelina Ayers, shared four beloved daughters—Stephanie, Rachel, Julia, and Annelise—who were his greatest pride and joy.
He will be remembered for his leadership, craftsmanship, integrity, discipline, especially his humor. Michael took great pride in his work and found purpose in mentoring and empowering others with his wisdom and generosity. His love for God and the people around him was evident in every aspect of his life.
Michael is survived by his four daughters, step mom RuthAnn Ayers, step brother Adam Ragel, sisters Claire Ayers, Sarah Ayers-Eck, Shayne Squires and Sherri Hiatt(husband Tom), nieces and nephews including Tori Osterhout, Amber Bloomberg, and dear friends. He also leaves behind Scott Weinreb, a lifelong friend who was like a brother to him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Sue Ayers, and was reunited in heaven only hours later with his father, Michael Orin Ayers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or to a local Berkshire County self-defense program supporting survivors of sexual assault. Per his request, no calling hours or services.
