My deepest condolences and thought go out to Val's family. I worked with Richard (Val) at Auburn Police Department, he was a great friend and partner during his service with the PD. Like anything we seemed to lose touch over the years; was saddened to hear of his passing. My blessings go out to Val's family, know he is at rest and in a better place now; will not be forgotten.

Monette, I was shocked to read Richard's obit in the paper. I didn't know him well, but the few times I saw him he always had a smile on his face. You made such a wonderful couple. My condolences to you, Monette, and your family.

Monette, I was so shocked to read of Dick's passing. He was a "larger than life" person with a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. I served with him for many years in the Army and he helped me get the child support I needed. I will always remember his big smile and his characteristic laugh. So sorry to learn of Richard's passing. I had a few criminal justice courses with Dick then had the honor of working with him in Support Enforcement for a number of years. He was excellent in his job, a real team player. Dick was always fun to be around, he had a great sense of humor. I still remember that mischievous smile and twinkle in the eye he had during lighter moments. It was obvious to everyone that he cared deeply about his wife and family. My wife, Freddie, and I send our sincere sympathy to you, Monette, and all of Dick's family.

I worked with Dick at DHHS and he often spoke of his wife and his family.I was shocked and saddened at Dick’s passing. I just ran into him two weeks ago at the Chickadee. He gave me one of his beautiful smiles and a big hug. He gave the best hugs! He looked very happy and we chatted for a few minutes. I am so glad I got to see him one last time. My condolences to Monette and the family. He was a wonderful person and will be missed by many!

I am saddened to see that Richard has past away suddenly. Although it's been about 6 months or so since I ran into him, I will always remember his big smile and calling me kiddo.
While I was a job coach at LL Bean, he and I formed a friendship with lots in common. After he left LL Bean and I retired from there, we would run into each other from time to time and he would always give me a hug and remind me that I was the best Job Coach he ever had!
He talked often about his wife and the many kids he helped.
He will be missed.
