Bruce and I always looked forward to crossing paths with Brian when we would come up to BI. He was always out and about, but never too busy for a cheerful hello and witty remark. We will miss his warm smile and that mischievous twinkle in his eye.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Sylvia, and your wonderful family. Such a tremendous loss to bear.

Syl, I was so sorry to hear of Brian's passing. So many great memories from childhood of my Irish friend with the best smile, heart of gold, personality larger than life...and a true man of the sea. The ones we love will never be forgotten. So glad you celebrated 50th like us this past Fall. Peace be with you and your wonderful family. Mo

It was with great sadness that I learned of Brian's passing; please accept my heartfelt condolences. I have recently stepped down as senior instructor at Project Oceanology. During my early years at the Project in the 1980's, Brian was a great resource and supporter of the Project. I will always remember at that time when you opened your home during the summer so that the Project's summer marine studies students could work in the Niantic River. As the years passed, I felt honored to be part of his Avery Point "motley crew".
Please accept my sincere condolences,
Brae Rafferty
