I knew Dan when he started working at the Portland Design Team...and have been wondering what he was up to...He was a good architect and a great colleague. Dan came late to driving and when he got his license he lost it almost immediately when he turned right on red where is was not allowed...Always in good humor, the pic looks like him although I haven't seen him in probably 30 years. I found out about him when my husband died suddenly and unexpectedly last Thursday pi day (3.14 2019) and my friend Alan K told me. My heart goes out to his family and especially to James Bruni, who lost his partner a week earlier than me. I understand your pain and loss and wish you courage and a strong heart to keep making the world a better place, as Dan did.

Meeting Dan and coming to know his humor, enjoyment of life, intelligence, infectious laugh and wonderful stories is a gift I will always remember and reflect on with gratitude and humor. As a Maine Medical Reiki Volunteer, Dan and I met when he first made an appointment for a Reiki session at the MMC Scarborough Campus. I had the good fortune to see him many times for Reiki and watch his good spirit and realistic outlook carry him with strength, perseverance and humor as he went through treatment/recovery process.
I miss him very much but know that his spiritual outlook and insight is flying high as he experiences 'the other side' which we discussed quite a few times.
To all those who knew and loved Dan, I offer my sympathy and caring for all of you. He often shared his love and concern for his family, his stories of enjoyment at a farm he visited often as a younger person and his love for his sisters and mother as well as a very good friend.
He was a gift to all of us and I feel certain he is not very far away (though we cannot see him) and he is very well and sending his love and laughter to us all. I will always see his good smile in my memory and remember his laughter and optimism.
