Esther was a friend and inspiration for all the time Mike (Steitzer) and I have lived in Topsham. We first met singing together in the Oratorio Chorale. She contributed so much to the community. It was my pleasure and privilege to provide veterinary care for her beloved pets over the years. We shared many stories during those visits. My condolences to Barclay and all of the family.

So sorry to hear of Esthers passing. We had such wonderful memories over the years at Mechuwana with our granddaughters. Such an interesting and personable lady. We had fun with our girls at camp. We did a lot of laughing, walking ,swimming, boating and a lot of talking! I was a great admirer of hers. She always had a story to tell and was always so upbeat. I just loved her and even though I saw her very seldom, Every summer, we always took up where we had left off. My deepest sympathy to Lily and Elizabeth and all the family. I know that Esther is in the arms of Jesus and is singing with God’s angels. May God bless and keep you.

Eszti was one of my favorite relatives and I will really miss her. Every time I saw her was always a memorable occasion with good, interesting conversation. I remember seeing her with Peter Baron at a Hungarian restaurant in San Diego in a train car (did that really happen?), and quite recently at a Steak and Shake on IN-37 with Andrew and Veronica Lenard. And who could forget her completely coincidental encounter with my sister Mary in Italy, which became a favorite family story. I wish I could have talked with her about chemistry, I never knew she was a chemist. One time I asked her "what do you call people from Maine?" And she instantly answered "Mainiacs". So, farewell to a great mainiac. And sincere condolences to Stu, Suzanne and the rest - welcome to see us anytime.

I've known Esther for what must be 40 years. She and I worked together for much of that time, and occasionally got together in more recent years post-retirement. We had many grand conversations, hearty laughs and an occasional cry together. I was bolstered by her open manner, friendly strength, honesty, principled values and infectious cheer. My life was enriched by my long friendship with her. I will miss her.

I have so many fond memories of Eszti! Family gatherings, her amazing cooking, helping her campaign, enjoying the Maine coast together... In the last few years she became my "Alzheimer's phone buddy" as I supported her in her journey with Barkley and she supported me in return. She so sweetly said "you really don't have a mother any more, so Esztineni will be here for you". I don't think I could have made it through this stage of our family's life without her.
So sorry I can't be there for her celebration of life. I'm thinking of you all.
