Aside from my parents, Ian Orman was one of my first mentors in the field of art. He taught me that art is not made with talent alone and that through hard work and persistence great things can be made.
He was a delightful, honest and inspiring man- whose every word I would hang on. Words that to this day some 21 years later, still ring in my head every time I set out to create something.
I am now, with great thanks to him, an exhibiting artist and professor of art. He was a great model for how to be an artist, educator and human being. Thanks for that lasting gift.

Dear Family of Ian Orman,
I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Orman was my art teacher through the years in the Auburn school system. In my senior year at Edward Little I had 2 classes a day with him. The classroom was tucked away in a long narrow room near the Gym. He let us listen to music during class. We played a lot of Jonathan Edwards! Our senior class took a trip to the Boston Museum of Art. He drove us down in a van and got stopped for speeding on the turnpike! We had so much fun that day. It is a cherished memory of mine. I loved that class and Mr. Orman!
I have a great appreciation for art composition and history thanks to him.
Thanks for sharing him with me all those years.
Sincerely
Robin Spiller St. Jean

Dear Janice,
It will be the little things
that you will remember,
the quiet moments,
the smiles, the laughter.
And although it may seem
hard right now,
it will be the memories
of these little things
that help to push
away the pain
and bring the smiles
back.
Through the pain and loss you feel
You can count on our 'support'
We'll be with you, in Pray, in Spirit
In, mind, in heart and thought.
And though it will be difficult
In the days ahead of you
Face the future bravely
As Ian would want you to.
May God Bless You and Your Family.
Our Deepest Sympathy,
Victoria and Howard Wilson
❤ ❤
With Loving Memories of Ian always.

Mr. Ormon was my art teacher at Edward Little. He was generous with his knowledge and inspired me to be creative within the rules and boundaries of design.
Now, more than 20 years later, design is my career and a huge part of my life. I owe a lot of that to him.
Thank you, Mr Ormon.
