Karen and Mark,
I am so sorry for your loss! My heart breaks for you...Your Mom was my 1st grade teacher, I was her only student in all her years that shared her birthday May 22nd. Every year she sent me a card with that same hand writing I remembered in 1st grade! I loved and collected mice, she sent me a few over the years. When I returned to Maine after living in Portland, OR I started swimming at the YMCA and there she was doing water aerobics! I was so excited to see her and speak with her again. The birthday cards continued, she was such a gift! A big hug and love to you both! Alison B.

I remember Esther very well. She was my sub-primary teacher when I first started school in the late 1940's. Our high school graduating class of 1959 were honored to have her there with us to celebrate our 50th class reunion. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

The kindness and support she gave me and my daughter,Amanda Fickett, will never be forgotten. Not only a wonderful teacher but a wonderful person. She will be sorely miss. My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.

Esther was an inspiration and wonderful teacher. She oversaw my student teaching in Falmouth and taught me so much about the art of teaching and children. She was a graceful lady and a model of what a teacher should be. My condolences to her family.
