My deepest condolences. Coach Libby was an amazing man, a mentor of mine. Generations of MVHS students benefited from his honest, calm and common sense personality. He was such a great wrestling coach too, we all learned many life lessons from him, he taught us to be team players, not to give up and instilled in us the confidence we needed to be successful on the mat as well as in all things in life. God bless Doug Libby and his family!

I was in Maine for Christmas when we learned that Doug had passed. I know from Sue that he ( and you )have had a long road to travel with this relentless disease, and it is reassuring to know that he is finally at peace. God bless all of you. South Warreners will always hold a special place in my heart.

I coached wrestling with Doug for 6 years. One of the best experiences of my life. He was an amazing coach and a great guy. He will be missed.

Doug, or Mr. Libby as I always called him, was my wrestling coach in high school. I will always remember him as a great mentor, friend and motivating individual. My biggest mistake was listening to a friend of mine when he told me to tackle Coach Libby when his back was turned. He said that since I was the big guy (I was the "unlimited" weight class wrestler.), I would be able to take him. Needless to say, I didn't "take him". I did, however, get taken myself three ways to Sunday. Thanks for the memories Coach!

Pat and family,
Doug’s Alzheimer’s journey has ended. He remained strong for such a long time. Pat you were equally as strong for him. Pat, it is time for you to rest. Spend time with family and friends. I’ll miss you at Caregivers. I’m glad to have had the ability to have shared knowledge and experience with you thus helping Doug’s journey. Respectfully, Tom
