March 2, 2019 | Glenn Meigel - El Paso, TX -- United States

Our most sincere condolences to the families of Lew and Jean Frank. As a psychology major, Professor Frank instructed several of my classes and served as my faculty advisor in Glatfelter Hall in the mid-1960s at Gettysburg College, PA. I remember him as a learned advisor and exceptional professor, retained not only what he taught but how he taught it, and was able to tell him this and of his influence as we were in card contact most Christmastimes over the years since my graduation in 1968. When a recent card was returned as not able to be forwarded, I located Jean’s obituary on the Internet and later Lew’s. Again, we are so sorry for your loss. Lew and Jean were a wonderful couple and will certainly be missed.

Dear Ellen, Andy & family,
We were so sorry to hear that your dear Lew passed away. He was a truly special man & he lived a long, remarkable life.
We will always remember our local birding adventures with him & Jean. Also our " bird bunch lunches" with 10 of us often at Captain Mikes in Brunswick.
We were hoping to see him for lunch around his birthday this February at some other restaurant.
We know how very much he missed his dear Jean. Their devotion to each other was amazing.
We hope that your fond memories of them help to comfort you in time.
Sincere Sympathy, Carol & Richard Jack

We just arrived home from traveling to learn through the paper about Lews passing. My husband and I owned Captain Mikes Restaurant and had the pleasure of serving your parents on numerous occasions. They were absolutely a delightful couple whom very much adored each other and we adored them! They always walked in with a smile for all of us and never left without a huge thank you and a lovely compliment. Normally the compliment was,{that was an extraordinary meal!} They were very memorable people in the most beautiful way. Ellen, you are also delightful and share that same smile and kindness. They were always so pleased when you were there with them. We are so sorry for your families huge loss. It's very much the worlds loss but heavens gain! Imagine the joy of your parents holding hands again! Together forever! Our love and condolences to you and your whole family.

Lew was one of the sweetest, most kind people I’ve ever known. His sense of humor was incredible and yes, most of all he loved laughing at himself and taking us along. I still smile remembering his stories, which were perhaps even better in written form. Sending all of my love and condolences to Andy and the Holmes family.
