Dear Jane,

I saw your father at lunch in '99 at Schooner with Janet McGuckian's mother when I was trying to convince my parents to move there. We had a delightful conversation and he told me of all your successes. He was a very nice man, and I remember your mother also as a lovely person. It's really hard to lose a parent, and particularly difficult to lose the last one. I have experienced it.
