I remember "the colonel" as our next door neighbor when I was growing up, he wore a uniform (at least that's how I remember him) and drove a Porsche, two things that were pretty unusual in my suburban Birmingham, Michigan world. His lawn was always perfect, which sort of scared me because ours wasn't. But then he surprised me by being super nice to "the kid next door", and my Dad told me that he liked me and thought I was an interesting kid and that he was taken by how I treated him as an equal.
Those things stuck with me all these years, which is why I looked him up and found this website and wrote this.
RIP, Colonel
Scott McVeigh

I did not know of Walter's distinguished military career but it certainly showed in his bearing and presence in the years I was acquainted with him. I'm so glad that Julie added him to our extended family and wish I had known him better.

I am so sorry to hear of Warrren's death. He was always so kind and gracious to Bill and myself. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and most especially Julie. I was always impressed with how he dealt with his health challenges during the past few years and admired his positive attitude and fortitude. He will be missed by many of us.

Lesley, John, John, and Carrie,
Words cannot express my sympathy for you all in Colonel Cerrone's passing. I met him years ago, and he made a lasting impression upon me. From reading his obituary, he led a full, wonderful life. He obviously touched all your lives in a most loving way. Thank goodness he was able to see his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. What a remarkable life.
I love you.
