Vaughan M. Jones, 76, of Durham, Maine, passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2026, surrounded by his loving relatives.
Vaughan was born on June 6, 1950. He was the son of the late Allan Jones and Jacqueline Jones. Throughout his life, Vaughan was known for his hardworking nature, generous spirit, and his ability to make friends wherever he went.
He spent many years working as both a property manager and in masonry, taking pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way. Vaughan was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for helping others whenever he could.
Vaughan truly enjoyed life. He loved spending time with friends, living life to the fullest, and being there for the people who needed him. His kindness, sense of humor, and easygoing personality will be remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Shannon Gervais and her husband, Eugene Gervais; and his beloved grandchildren, Michael Gervais and Logan Gervais. He is also survived by his siblings: Sandra Spier, Gail Jones, Daisy Fraser, and Lloyd Jones. In addition to his parents, Vaughan was predeceased by other loved family members who welcomed him home.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on August 9, 2026, at the Durham AMVETS Hall in Durham, Maine at 2pm, where stories and memories of Vaughan will be shared. Vaughan’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His warmth, generosity, and love of life will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to AMVETS Post 13 in Vaughan’s memory to support hall improvements and future projects.
