Stanley L Libby Jr, age 70, On June 30, 2026, passed away peacefully with loving family at his side. He was receiving care at the Hawthorne House in Freeport Maine for about 1 year. He is the beloved son of Stanley L and Marion S Libby, predeceased and from Freeport.
In addition to being a licensed electrician, Stan was truly a highly skilled "Jack of all trades". He retired from Parkview Memorial Hospital in Brunswick Maine, as director of Operations.
Stan is survived by his much loved and devoted life partner, Sharon Nelson of Embden. 2 Sisters: Linda Hartwell of Bath, Deanna Guimond (husband Mikal) of Freeport. Children: Jamie Powers of California, Virginia Libby of Bath, Samuel Libby of Texas. Nephews: Jason Guimond (wife Nikki) Remington, Preston; Brandon Hartwell (wife Kasey), Leo, Olivia. Niece: Amy Hartwell Wyman, Caleb Wyman. Close Extended family: Nicole Acosta-Nelson (husband Sean Acosta and Grand Daughter Clara) of Chicago, Sean Nelson. Nellie Martin of Lisbon, Lewis Porter of Freeport, Dr. Stemple Johnson of Brunswick. 10 Grandchildren and many cousins.
Stan loved spending time and talking with people. He was a lifelong sportsman and loved nature and adventures. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, motorcycling, snowmobiling, ATV riding, playing pool and golf. He also was a Patriots and Celtics fan. Stan loved the nature at the home in Embden with Sharon, Stan's much loved life partner. He also has many great Ocean memories at the Libby camp on Wolfs Neck and Good times at the Guimond camp in Troy. Stan enjoyed family trips to ME, NH, MA, FL, AZ, CA and Canada.
Stan's Memory will live on in the hearts of those that knew and loved him. We will always remember Stan's Love of Life, Generous Easy going Spirit, and his tremendous love of family and friends.
