AUBURN - On June 3rd, 2026 Mary May Bernard, loving mother of three sons, four grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren passed away at the age of 88 at Auburn Hospice House in Auburn. Mary was born Feb. 24, 1938 in Lewiston, to Katherine Way and George Munroe. Mary was a lifelong student and loved to learn. She was a police officer in the 1970's. a brown belt in karate and a security guard at CMMC for over 22 years, before retiring from Roy's golf on Rt 4 in 2011. Mary loved animals, crafting and making scrap books. She spoke French, Spanish, and Portuguese. Mary had BA's in Math, French and Nursing. Her favorite color was purple.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, George Munroe, and her mother Katherine Woodman, and her son Yvon Bernard her granddaughter Karen Swayer, great grandchildren Cody Sawyer, Chloe Eisman. She is survived by her sons Carmille Bernard and his wife Cindy Bernard, her son Stephen Bernard of Auburn; Grandchildren; Crystal Bernard of Acton, Chelsea and Josh Pratt of Greene, Nicholas Bernard of Leeds: Great grandchildren, Zander Lawler of Acton. Jackson Pratt and Javsea Pratt of Greene. Arthur Bernard, Raven Bernard. Ivy Bernard Lindsey May Tancrel, Caleb Sawyer, Conner Elsman, Cali Sawyer, Carter Dancsak
Services will be held at Funeral Alternatives 25 Tampa Street Lewiston, Maine, Wednesday June 10, 2026 from 12pm to 2pm and 4pm to 6pm. The Committal service will be held on June 11, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St Peter's Cemetery in the large Chapel. Flowers and condolences may be sent to the chapel at 217 Switzerland Rd. Lewiston
