With profound sadness, we announce the passing of June I. Fuller, a beloved soul whose presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew her. June passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, at the Hospice House in Auburn, Maine, surrounded by the love of her dear ones. Her journey, marked by kindness and an unwavering generosity, began in Lewiston, Maine, on September 11, 1955.
June was the cherished daughter of Don and Laura Fuller, who, along with her brother Robert Fuller and sisters Elaine Robinson and Sheila Blodgett, preceded her in death. She is lovingly survived by her devoted spouse, Mary Lou Dow of Auburn, her sister, Kathleen Cutler and husband, Bill, of Florida, her brother-in-law, Patrick Robinson of Florida, and beloved nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
June and Mary Lou's love story began forty-four years ago, a journey of companionship and love that culminated in their marriage in February 2012. Their life together was a testament to the power of love and commitment, a beacon of joy and support through life's many seasons.
A proud alumna of Edward Little High School, class of 1973, June was a member of the ELHS band and chorus. She played guitar and sang with family and friends, often singing at area nursing homes with her mom. June pursued her passion for food by studying Food Service at the community college in Portland, Maine. Her career in food service spanned many years, where she delighted in bringing joy to others through her culinary talents. Later, she served the community with dedication at the Community Concepts Transportation Department in Lewiston.
June's heart was as warm as the ovens she loved to bake in. Summers were her favorite time, when her grilled foods and baked goods (her popovers and angel food cake are legendary)were savored by family and friends. Her love for cooking was matched only by her love for people; she knew everyone in her neighborhood, and her door was always open for a shared meal or an early morning breakfast outing.
Those who knew June will forever remember her for her love of people and her generous spirit. Her laughter and kindness left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her. June was not just a neighbor or a friend; she was family to many.
A service to honor June's life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Union Cemetery, located on Rt. 136 (Riverside Drive) in Durham, Maine. Following the service, a Celebration of Life will take place at Marco's Restaurant, 12 Mollison Way, Lewiston, Maine, where stories, laughter, and memories will be shared in her honor.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of CMMC, particularly the compassionate nurses on 3 and M1, the thoughtful team in the coffee shop, the dedicated emergency room staff, and the caring staff at Auburn's Hospice House. Your kindness during June's final days was a comfort beyond words.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor June's memory by sharing a meal with a neighbor, baking for a friend, or simply spreading kindness in your community, much like June did throughout her life.
Rest in peace, dear June. Your light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were touched by your love and generosity.
