John C. Moulton, 74, passed away on July 1, 2026, at his beloved, octagonal home in Harpswell, Maine. He was the son of Catherine and Ralph Moulton of Norway, Maine, and lived a life marked by curiosity, creativity, and a readiness for adventure.

He was playful, loving, and deeply gentle; someone who brought kindness and patience to everyone around him. He moved through life with a quiet  perseverance that was part of who he was, even as he dealt with the changes and losses that came with 10 years of having Parkinson’s Disease.  A natural fixer of everything, he could meticulously mend broken objects as easily as he could comfort broken hearts, with a calm presence and intuition for knowing what needed care.

By nature, he was a teacher—offering guidance, understanding, and quiet wisdom in all he did, often without needing to say much at all.

Ultimately, his deepest calling was a lifelong passion to live as a shaman, using his hands, his heart, and his gifts to help heal both people and the world around him.
His wife, Sally Moulton; his sisters, Laura Reiman and Julie Moulton; his son, Josh Moulton, and partner Sam; his daughter, Johnna Moulton; and his four grandchildren, Merlin, Mallory, Sheri and Evan continue to cherish the memories they created with him.

There will be a celebration of John’s life: at The Bandstand at Mitchell Field, 1410 Harpswell Neck Rd. in Harpswell; on Saturday July 25, 2026; at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to: The Landing YMCA Parkinson’s Programs
