
George Almon Fogg
George A. Fogg, 93 of Auburn, Maine died May 29, 2026 at Clover Manor in Auburn.
Born on the family farm at Fogg’s Corner in Greene, Maine, on July 15, 1932, the son of George E. Fogg and Nellie S. Fogg (Wright).
He attended Greene schools, Jordan Grammar of Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High
School in 1951. He furthered his education and graduated from SMVTI in 1962 and worked nearly 30 years for AT&T, Long Lines in Springfield, Massachusetts and Portland, Maine.
He was a dedicated volunteer his whole life, member of Monmouth Lodge #110 of some 56 years and life member of SAM, NRA, RMEF, Falmouth Rod & Gun Club and, Scarborough Fish & Game Association. He also belonged to Royal River Rod & Gun Club and Cumberland Rifle & Pistol Club, being its Secretary and Treasurer for many years. He was a Master Hunter Safety
Instructor for the State of Maine.
An avid competitive shooter all his life, shooting well into his 80’s he won many awards and trophies during that time.
He was most proud of being a country boy with the strong work ethic that came with it. He was also very pleased to have taught and mentored hundreds of Hunter Safety students and competition shooting junior rifle kids.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years Merlyn C. Fogg and leaves behind two sons, Robert E. and Karin Fogg of Lewiston and Aric J. and Andrea Fogg of Auburn. Three grandchildren, grandson Elijah and granddaughter Neviana of Auburn and Rowan and Deana Fogg of Lewiston. As well as his Great Grandson Franklin Fogg of Lewiston.
George will be buried in the New Valley Cemetery in Greene on July 11, 2026 at 10:00 am.
