Deborah L. Fides, 76, was born December 23, 1949 and died at Glenridge Nursing Home in Augusta, of Alzheimer's disease on March 27, 2026.
She lived her early years in Bowdoinham, graduating from the Community School and then went to Brunswick High School. After graduating from high school, Deborah attended Waterville School of Nursing and earned an LPN degree. She then worked in several medical facilities in Brunswick and lived in the Brunswick area as well. Deborah also had a business called "The Sand Box" sewing children's clothing with her good friend Nancy Sherin.
Deborah had many interests such as knitting, doing jig saw puzzles, sewing, bargain shopping and eating chocolate. She also loved cats and frequently had two at a time. Deborah especially loved socializing with friends and going to parties. Everyone who knew Deborah knew she loved music and doing her special shimmy to the music. Deborah is predeceased by her mother, Marion Woodbury Fides and her father Avery "Bud" Fides as well as her sister Paula Fides Jenne and her husband John and her brother "Tracy" Fides. Survivors include her sisters Susan and Georgie Fides, nephew Aaron Fides and his two daughter Sophia and Harbor Fides and a niece Candie Mayhew, her husband Gary and their two sons, Cameron and Connor. Additionally she is survived by several Fides cousins and a ton of Woodbury cousins.

A celebration of Deborah's life will be held Sunday, June 14 at 1 p.m. at the home of John and Nancy Sherin, 1157 Mere Point Road, Brunswick, 207-504-0764. "You can shed tears because she is gone, or you can smile because she lived."
