Biography:

Virginia-Derek W Stimpson, 29, of Hampton, VA formerly of Durham, Maine passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 11, 2013.

He was born in Lewiston on June 2, 1984 the son of Rodnell and Jane Stimpson.

Derek enjoyed playing video games, computers, listening to heavy metal music and particularly playing with his little cousins.

Derek graduated Brunswick High School in 2002. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force.  He later worked for a private contractor for the government as a telecommunications specialist. Derek was enrolled in College at ECPI University in Newport News, VA.

He was predeceased by his grandfather Albert Simpson sr., of Durham,  grandmother Evelyn Tryon of Pownal, and grandfather Richard Tryon of Pownal.  Derek is survived by his parents of Durham, sister Erika Stimpson of Keene, NH, his daughter in Virginia, grandmother Jean Stimpson of Durham, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Tuesday, November 19th from 6 to 8 pm at the Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa St., Lewiston.  A funeral service will take place on November 20th at 10am also at the Funeral Alternatives with a burial to follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Pownal.
