Jane Louise Patterson

Date of Death: November 9, 2015

Date of Birth: November 14, 1946

Biography:

AUGUSTA-- Jane Louise Patterson, 68, of Chelsea, died Monday, November 9, 2015 among family at  Maine General in Augusta.  She overcame polycystic kidneys via a transplant and lung cancer before an obstruction in the liver became too much.

She was born in Augusta on November 14, 1946, the only daughter of three children to Robert and Beulah (Woodward) Dudley.

Jane worked her way through the Augusta school system despite losing her father in high school to the kidney disease she would eventually face herself.  Her finishing school was an achievement in overcoming adversity.  Soon, however, the love of her life would step in.  She married Clarence Patterson Jr. in June of 1965 and began raising two sons.  During this time, she worked for several organizations, including LaVerdiere's, Hallowell Shoe, and the State of Maine.  At the request of her husband, she retired early from the state to join him to become dairy farmers.  The hardest job they loved together and hated together.  After 15 years and no days off, the cows left for good.  It was happy and sad.......just as it had started.   For several years after they enjoyed retirement together until Clarence passed in 2013.

Jane was also predeceased by a brother, Robert A. Dudley Jr., and a twin son Myron, that was lost near birth.

She is survived by a brother, James F. Dudley and his wife Barbara, of Sidney, and two sons, Robert and Byron Patterson, both of Chelsea.

There is no scheduled service, but for those that wish to stop by the Farm sometime.  Even though it's not the same, come sit a while..........

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation. ( PKD Foundation, c/o Reid Samuel, 8330 Ward Parkway, Suite 510, Kansas City, MO  64114).
