Biography:

PORTLAND -James Everett Lydick, Jr. 51, of Lewiston, Maine, passed away on September 27th, 2014 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine with his domestic partner and family by his side.

He was born on December 18th, 1962 in Bucksport, the son of James Everett Sr., and Lorraine (LeClair) Lydick

James attended Bucksport schools until he graduated in 1982. He enjoyed playing on both the football and baseball teams.

He worked as a security guard St. Josephs College in Standish for 24 years. He also worked at ACE Security, Bates College in Lewiston, and Champion Paper Mill in Bucksport. He was certified in first aid and CPR, and was a licensed EMT.

He was a member of the NRA and NGOA.

James was a very private person, and was a dreamer. He enjoyed the great outdoors, and loved to hunt, hike and camp. He loved walking the woods with his dogs, and liked to watch football, especially the Patriots. James also enjoyed many road trips with Linda, and loved going to the Fryeburg Fair. He especially enjoyed helping others.

He is survived by his Domestic Partner of 24 years, Linda J. Roy of Lewiston; his mother; his Step Parents Jackie and Joe Manuel of Searsport; his sister Mary Ann Clement and her husband Todd of Bucksport; his half-sisters Janet Thurston of Hollis, ME, Gwen Gray of Bucksport, Gail Kelley of Bucksport ME; his half-brothers Mickey Robbins. Plymouth, NC, Lyndon Lydick of Bucksport, and Billy lydick of Bucksport; his closest nephews Austin Clement, Bucksport And Phillip Thurston Jr. Rodchester NH; his closest Nieces Natasha Clement, of Bucksport, Bobbie-Joe Gerry of Newport; and several more nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his father James E. Lydick Sr.; a sister Rosa Lee Lydick; a half sister Mary C. Herbert; and a brother in law Phillip Thurston Sr.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Market Square Health Center, the Stephen’s Memorial Hospital E.R., the Life Flight staff, and Maine Medical Center E.R. and SCU #4 for their comfort and care

Services will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim’s memory to the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, 55 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240.
