Biography:
Sandra L. Libby, 72, of Leeds passed away on Wednesday, March 29th, 2017 at St. Mary’s in Lewiston. She was born in Winthrop on Oct. 26th, 1944 to parents Maynard and Violet (Smith) Burgess.
Sandra attended Monmouth and Winthrop Schools, and proudly received her GED from Leavitt in 1987. She worked as a nurse’s assistant at Clover Manor, and Green Acres, and had also worked as a fancy stitcher, and at Brenda’s Variety Store.
She enjoyed arts and crafts in her free time, especially crocheting. She also enjoyed shopping trips to Wal-Mart. Sandra loved her family, and enjoyed spending time with her beloved husband of 56 years, Joe “Dicky” Libby. They were inseparable. Without dad she wasn’t mom.
Sandra leaves behind her husband Joe; 4 children, James S. Libby Sr., Kathy Pare, Cindy Libby-Porter, and Jason Libby; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 sisters; 4 brothers; and last but not least 1 best friend, Gayle Brogan.
She was predeceased by 2 children, Joe R. Libby Jr., and John P. Libby; 1 sister; five brothers; and her parents.
