Biography:

LEWISTON-Diane Laprise, 61, of Lewiston went to meet her loving parents on December 21st, after a lengthy illness. She was born on August 27th, 1953 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Xavier Laprise. She lived happily with her parents for half of her life and subsequently she resided at D'Youville Pavilion until her death.

Diane spent many happy hours at the Social Learning Center. They made it possible for Diane to experience one of the highlights of her life by her performance with the Inspired Voices Group at the Franco American Heritage Center.  Diane's family would like to express their gratitude for the Center's constant efforts to develop friendships, education, and stimulation for Diane.

A large part of Diane's adult life was spent at D'Youville Pavilion.  Through the years Diane has had many wonderful, loving, and caring staff for which her family wishes to express their sincerest thanks and endless gratitude.  We want to assure that this includes not only the current amazing group of staff members but everyone who previously helped care for her.  Through the years Diane's life has been touched by many, too many to list here, but it is our hope that they know their kindness has been recognized and appreciated.

Towards the end of her life Diane's family was very grateful for all the help and support provided by Androscoggin Home and Hospice.

Diane was predeceased by her mother Yvette Blouin- Laprise and her father Xavier Laprise.

She is survived by her sister Pauline Marsh and her husband Donald of Lewiston, her brother Roland of Florida, and her brother Dr. Paul Laprise and his wife Cindy of Biddeford. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and one great great niece, and many cousins.

 

A Memorial Mass will be held in the chapel at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul on Monday, December 29th, 2014 at 11:00am. A committal service will follow the Mass at St. Peter’s Cemetery on Switzerland Ave, Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made In Diane's memory to D'Youville Pavilion C/O St. Mary's Development Office PO Box 7291 272 Sabattus St. Lewiston, Maine 04240 or the Social Learning Center 80 Strawberry Avenue, Lewiston, ME 04240.
