John Gordon

Biography:

AUBURN - John Gordon, 82, of Livermore, ME passed away on January 22 with his family by his side.

He was born on July 23,1927 in Madison, ME, the son of John and Anne

(Knowlan) Gordon. He attended school in Strong, ME. John proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed for 35 years at Boise Cascade in Rumford.

Happiness to John was fishing on the ocean and the Kennebec River. He was known by all his fishing buddies as one of the best fishermen. He taught many grandchildren how to fish and loved every moment of it.

Time spent with family was always special to him. He was always ready to tell a joke and you never knew what he was going to say.

John is survived by his companion of 24 years, Ellen Stacey, three daughters, Ann Johnson and Cindy Gordon of Melrose, MA, Stephanie Miles of Turner, son-in-law Phil Bownen of Lisbon, 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brother Larry Gordon of Strong, many special nieces and nephews, and Ellen's three children who he loved as his own.

He was predeceased by 3 of his children, John, Nancy and Dale Gordon, brother Lawrence Gordon and sisters Ethel Harrington, Viona Pinkham, Beulah Spaulding, Helena Huff and Emma Walker.

The family would like to thank all the staff at the ICU at Central Maine Medical Center for all their care. A heartfelt thank you is sent to all the caregivers at the Androscoggin Hospice for their loving care. The family cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Austin and the staff.
