Biography:

Elaine Currie, 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of May 15, 2017 at Montello Manor.

She was born on May 11^th, 1934 to parents Charles and Helen Bennett in Auburn, Maine where she lived most of her life. She lived in West Auburn for a good part of her adult life.

Elaine married Robert Currie on Sept. 18^th, 1955 and had three children; Pam, Linda, and Scott.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, working outdoors, and going to the ocean.

Elaine worked at Taber’s Lakeside Stand for many years, and also at Lost Valley and King’s Department Store.

Surviving are her 3 children Pamela Anthony and husband Mark of Mechanic Falls, Linda Austin of Greene, and Scott Currie of Lewiston; 3 brothers, Tom, Don, and her twin brother, Eugene Bennett; 3 grandchildren, Emily Allen and fiancé Norm Lizotte, Stacy Joslyn and husband Garrett and Jeremy Austin and fiancé Crystal Murphy; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband on April 10^th, 2007; both parents; and also by an infant daughter.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Montello Manor for the excellent care that they provided for Elaine.

A graveside committal service will be held at 11am on June 10^th, 2017 at Mt. Auburn Cemetery on Summer St. in Auburn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greater Androscoggin Humane Society 55 Strawberry Ave. Lewiston, Maine 04240.
