Biography:

Maurice Gerard Bilodeau—Auburn—It is with great sorrow that the family of Maurice Gerard Bilodeau shares the news of his passing March 30, 2021 after several years of declining health. Maurice was born in Lewiston, ME September 23, 1938, to Gerard & Alice (Caron) Bilodeau, the eldest of 8 children. He was a stand out kicker for the Edward Little High School football team. Despite that, he disliked school and joined the US Navy. He served four years, December 1956-1960.

Much of his service time was spent on ship in the Mediterranean Sea where his “duty” consisted of playing catcher on champion fast pitch softball teams. He never tired of telling stories from those days. Upon completion of service he returned to Maine and resided in the Auburn area for the rest of his life. He joined the Bricklayer's Union, Local #3, Boston, MA and worked most of his remaining work years as a bricklayer alongside his father and brother Rene. He was very proud of being a Gold Card Member (50+years) of the union. He is survived by his daughters, Laurie Trindall of Lisbon Falls and Anne Marie Waring of Biddeford; his son Joe Bilodeau and his wife Jana of West Bath and daughter in law Lorraine Bilodeau of Sabattus. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Maurice is also survived by three brothers: Rene and wife Irene, Roger and wife Joline and Marc all of Auburn; three sisters: Rachel Blaisdell of Dixfield, Terry and husband Gerald Lebrun of Minot and Susan Fahey of Willsboro, NY and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, son, Gerard Maurice Bilodeau and his sister Elaine McKeone. He is also predeceased by his wife Kathleen L. Bilodeau.
