I am writing on behalf of my mother who passed away March 30, 2012. Thank you so much for the notifying phone call and please accept my sympathy and condolences. Interestingly, the call came the day before our committal service for my mother.

I remember "Aunt" Jeanne from my childhood when she lived a couple of blocks down from us on Barton Street. After my father passed away, she and my mother shared some very happy visits at the camp on Long Lake and in Presque Isle.

I remember her as a lovely and gracious lady who sent my children photos of the Elgin-Parthenon Marbles. She was able to see them in London, whereas we were unable to view them in Greece!

May she have a blessed rest and everlasting peace.

To Jeanne's remaining family. We are so sorry to read of her passing in the BDN today. Our deepest condolences to you.

The following is a poem (author unknown) I think she might appreciate.

"Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep. I am the thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond’s gilt on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn’s rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die."

She certainly had a positive effect on the students she taught. PIHS suffered a loss, when she moved downstate.

May she rest in peace and have all "A" students in heaven. Amen.
