Dear Michael ... and family.

My heart goes out to you all for your loss. It also goes out to you for many wonderful memories that will help you heal over time.

We never acquainted Michael, but we do share the exact same birthday. You in Brunswick and I in Portland. Many years ago but not many miles apart.

My note to you most assuredly is not about me but ... when I awoke yesterday to my 6oth birthday, I was incredibly moved in reading your story and sadly, that you did not quite get to that milestone.

So Michael, I celebrated for both of us.

There was no big party for this one. Only a beautiful, peaceful day for each of us to move on to our respective next step in our own journey.

Dear Michael,
Although we share the same last name, we didn't know each other. But, I too, have a brother named Michael. There are so many Whitmores that, I'm sorry to say, I don't know half of them or if we are even related. My brothers, sister and I grew up in the Portland area. My dad was Edward and my mother was Virginia (McIsaac). You look like you were happy in life and sounds like you have a loving family. God bless on the next part of your journey.
