I'm Sorry, I just found out yesterday. Although I hadn't seen Pete in some time, I know if I had called him for help even in the middle of the night he would have come. He was a kind generous person who never had a bad word to say. We spent a lot of time together in my teens and early 20's and I enjoyed being with him.

I have a lot of great memories from my youth hanging with Pete, taking a Land rover to the top of Bear Mountain, driving through the hills of Pennsylvania with a hitchhiker we picked up playing the harmonica in the back, or just out shooting. He will be missed

December 19, 2015 | Ian S Barclay - North Leeds, Maine -- United States

due to my having three older brothers and the plethora of trouble that proceeded me, my father never taught us to drive, at age 16 driving was a mysterious thing that was way out in my future.
Peter and I were out "Boonie Cruisin' " one day out by the Leeds Town Dump.. somewhere amongst the conversation I said "I've never driven before".
Peter stopped the Red Land Rover immediately. "Never drove??" (he didn't believe me). " Not a car, nothin' ?" he queried "nope".
He put the Rover in park and got out, made me get in the drivers seat.
I was the kid they tolerated, picked on, and made fun of.. but at that moment his entire demeanor changed, to that of a teacher.
He taught me to shift, patiently helped me through poppin' the clutch and stalling the thing, eventually getting me going down the dump road and even showing me low to climb over mounds and rocks in 4WD.

Thank you for my first Driving Lesson Peter ....... :)

Dear Vallerand Family,
I am deeply saddened to hear of Peter's passing. He and I were friends for many years. Peter was one of the smartest, funniest, and kindest people I have ever known. He was a true gentleman, and we enjoyed many cultural activities together. He greatly touched my life and my heart. I miss him deeply, and I am thinking of you all during this difficult time.
Much peace, love, and light to you all today and always.
Sincerely,
Christina
