John was a friend for many years. One of the cleverest people I ever knew, including all my MIT classmates, but not an ounce of pretension. John may have been born in NY, but aside from his baffling loyalty to the Jets, was as hard core a Mainer as there ever was. He loved his life and lived it well. Thanks for your friendship and the good times, John.
