July 13, 2021 | Jane Warren - Brunswick, Maine -- USA

Bonnie, I write to send my condolences (albeit belated) for the loss of your beloved husband Linton. I did not know him well, but you and Linton were among the closest friends of my folks, Bill and Audrey Kennison. They cherished their time within that retired clergy group, your gatherings, travels, and shared experiences. Dad always spoke of Linton with the very deepest respect and love. My only words of comfort are those Dad lived by: Stay close to the earth / Keep in touch with the Source / Help each other out. Blessings to you and your family, Bonnie.

I am full of gratitude for Linton's wonderful amazing life, always pursuing his values as his vocation unfolded and transformed. He was key in my own ordained life, providing professional counsel and support in my early years as a priest when the then-bishop was unwilling to do so. He partnered with me and others to lead our critically important work as a diocese to heal from that bishop's abrupt defrocking and to call a gifted new bishop in the Rev. Chilton Knudsen. My heart is with Bonnie and their children and grandchildren in this loss. I'm so very very glad for the late years in the garden - carrying forward a consistent thread of fruitfulness in Linton's life narrative.

Dear Bonnie, I'm very sorry for your loss. Linton was a remarkable man. You were a remarkable couple and an inspiration to all who came to know you . My heart goes out to you in this tragic loss. I'm still working on the calendars and hope to have them within a couple weeks. May God Bless and guide you. Love Phil

I am so sorry to hear of Linton's death. I did not know him well, but enjoyed the winter gardening classes that he organized and a class that he taught through Midcoast Senior College. I know that he was a strong leader of Senior College and his work there will be sorely missed. He was always kind and enjoyed other people and so made many friends. My heart goes out to Bonnie and her children with sincere sympathy.

I was fortunate to know Linton Studdiford. He was a man of natural grace and generosity. He seemed to me to combine a clear understanding of human nature with a lovely, understated sense of humor. Sincere condolences to Bonnie and her family.

what an interesting, wide-ranging heart and mind Linton had - he gave so much to the world, and so much to any of us connected to midcoast senior college - a wonderful man, a sad loss, but an inspiration, someone to hold in our hearts - with love and strength for Bonnie - take good care of your heart

Bonnie, Marjorie, and Douglas, I am so sorry to learn of Linton's death. He was a warm and charming man, having a great intellect and a well-defined sense of humor. I remember your family so well from the beautiful red farmhouse in Cornville (Cornville Players cast parties, wine- tastings, etc.). Linton and you built a purposeful life, wherever you resided. I mourn his loss and am sorry that you have lost this giant of a man.

January 5, 2021 | Mollie Sandock and Jim Brokaw - Brunswick , Maine -- USA

We were so sorry to see Linton’s name in the Times Record obituary page today, but glad to read the story of his happy life of achievement and service. He taught me so much about gardening during his talks to the BTLT over the years. Thinking of you, Bonnie, and sending hopes for consolation and peace.

January 5, 2021 | Clare Durst - Topsham, ME -- United States

Linton contributed a great deal to the intellectual life of Midcoast Maine by chairing the Curriculum Committee of Midcoast Senior College for several years. He was always a valuable member of the Board and a great teacher of several classes as well.

How pleased we were - and are - to be newer friends to Linton and Bonnie. We were fortunate to have had a distanced dinner together in September on the Brunswick patio. Whether discussing church, teaching, Maine, gardening, family or a range of other subjects, Linton brought a wise, caring, and steady voice to all. In his life and work, Linton embodied what Bishop Michael Curry calls "The Way of Love." And so we send him off with that same love, now and always.

Any recollection of Lin always brings a smile to my face... but the reasons are many and depend on which memory. I am grateful to have had him as a boss, fellow lover of music and liturgy, and friend, and I'm so glad Teague and I got to spend some time with Bonnie and Linton in their lovely gardens this past summer.

Linton was a fine and loving man who will be missed by many.
