February 10, 2021 | Carl and Beverly Koester - lisbon falls, me -- United States

Harold has been a special friend ever since his daughter and our daughter were in school together in 2008. We loved his love for people and his infectious smile. He shared his boat and meals with us. We will miss him.

My wife and I were sadden to hear of Harolds passing. He was a good man, and had an exceptional lifetime of interesting experiences. We first met Harold when we purchased his condo unit at Oak Grove, eighteen years ago. He was a true gentleman and a man of honor and integrity. For us that was recognized at the day of our closing when he made a prepayment toward an upcoming capital assessment that could have easily been assigned to the new owners. He did so without fanfare and essentially attempted to slip the transaction by us without us knowing. As we said our good byes at the end of the closing I said to Harold...." I know what you did" and thanked him. He just smiled and said "you're welcome, it was the right thing to do".

So for the past eighteen years I would bump into Harold at the various locations......restaurants, Hannafords and of course his boat. It was always nice to see him and spend some time to catch up. I will miss that. He was a good soul and good man. Rest in Peace.

I met Harold about 10 years ago and had many good times with him. He was a consummate entrepreneur, I always enjoyed talking with him about his business ventures and hearing his advice. He was always so proud of his children. What a life!

My husband, Jim and I have many fond memories of Harold. He will be missed, but we know he's in a far better place. We've had Harold visit us for dinner in our home and he had us visit him for dinner at his. We were fortunate enough to spend hours with him over lunch at Whales Tale, China by the Sea and on one occasion at Tugboat, where we met his son.
We sincerely hope we will be in town for his celebration of life. We are going to be south for 3 months, and then we will return.
For his family, we are sorry for your loss, he talked of you often.
Fondly, Connie and Jim Young
