January 4, 2023 | Elaine Brownell-Berry - Portland, ME -- USA

Al was my husband for nine years. We share a son, Michael Clayton Sheehy. Al was an expectational human being. He loved to read, fly fish, and play hockey, which he did at Colby College and into his later years up until the day he died. Both our son and I miss him so very much and think of him daily.

May 10, 2021 | John Ericson - Benicia, CA -- United States

My sincerest condolences to the Sheehy family and friends. Al was one of the nicest people I’ve met, and I have fond memories of Bobby Hull slap shots with tennis balls on Stanley Way on the Cape and playing pickle with Al and the other kids. My family always looked forward to seeing the Sheehys in the summer, a wonderful family.

February 18, 2021 | Elaine Brownell-Berry - Portland, Maine -- United States

I was married to Al for nine years, and we have a son, Mike. I knew Al for 20 years. We remained close friends for all of that time. He was a loving and caring father, a friend to many, and an all-around good man. I miss him very much.

January 23, 2019 | Peter Eremita - Wells, Maine -- America

I had the pleasure of skating with Al and enjoyed talking about biking and music with him. I am thankful that I had time with Al and miss him.

January 23, 2019 | Paul Bulger - Cumberland, Maine -- U.S.

Dear Family and fellow friends of Al Sheehy,
I, like so many others, had the pleasure of playing morning hockey with Al and in many hockey tournaments over the years ("The Old Farts Classic", so-called). Al was an exceptional hockey player but an even better person. Kind, warm, intelligent, and civilized he always made me feel like a friend from long ago and somewhere else. His illness, and his death, feel like a tragedy to me. A good man and a good life cut short by an illness that he did not deserve, and which he could not overcome.

I miss Al already.

January 22, 2019 | Elizabeth Bailey - Brunswick, ME -- US

I will always cherish Al as a blessing to treasure. My condolences to his family and friends.

January 22, 2019 | Cheri Skilling - Poland, ME -- United States

My deepest condolences to Al's family and friends.

I had the pleasure of working with Al in the UNE Health Informatics program since 2017 and he will be missed.

AL was always quick to assist with an assignment and find a solution to problem.

I will always appreciate and remember your support.

January 22, 2019 | David Karraker - Portland, Maine -- 04102

I was honored to have Al as a colleague during my years as a Research Associate in the Sponsored Research program at the Muskie School of Public Service. He was talented, earnest, dedicated, and generous of spirit at times when generosity of spirit could sometimes be in short supply. He was truly a solid citizen and a talented and dedicated public policy researcher. I was profoundly sorry to learn of his passing.

January 21, 2019 | ROBERT OLNEY - FREEPORT, Maine -- United States

I played early morning hockey with Al. My condolences to his entire family.

January 20, 2019 | Bob Goettel - Cape Elizabeth, Maine -- US

My deepest condolences go to Susan Levine and to Al's relatives. I knew Al at Muskie. More than 20 years ago using his skills as a carpenter, he helped me replace the deck on our condo. I followed his career at Maine Health and UNE. Less than a year ago I met Al and Susan at South Station when the three of us were waiting for a bus to return to Portland. We talked almost all of the way home. Al said he was in the final stages of getting the medical ok to pursue a double lung transplant. I assume unfortunately that didn't happen, and that's very sad. Al was a terrific guy and a very solid professional. While I certainly didn't know him as well as those of you much closer to him, I know that he will be deeply missed.

January 20, 2019 | Judy & )erry McFarland - Bryan, TX -- USA

Sending condolences and hugs to the family of Al Sheehy. Although we only met him once, We remember him as being a kind and loving soul. Rest In Peace.
