Condolences from Saligao, Goa. The names of Dr Saldanha sounded familiar, so I couldn't resist digging. I knew both Aunty Ursula and Fr Albert (though I'm of a somewhat younger generation). Your family is well known here. Happy to get to know about Dr Saldanha, and his connection with Rachol [See RaiturchemDaiz on Facebook] and the achievements of another son of the village.

Dear Saldanha Family, I had Dr. Saldanha as a Psychology professor at USM and I was also his teaching assistant. His knowledge and distinguished manner earned him the respect of colleagues and students alike.I especially remember when I had tanked on his History and Systems exam and he called me to his office to discuss why.I told him that I was aware that he knew I knew the information and it was a waste of time to write it all down.He disagreed and asked me about a particular philosopher.I began reciting Monty Python's Philosopher's song to remind myself what the philosopher's belief was.He was surprised I knew who Monty Python was and he passed me.

"Est" was a favorite patient of mine; the way that he spoke my name, rolling the R, always made me smile. I am sorry to learn of his passing.

Dear Saldanha family,
In your father's second year of teaching at USM, Dr. Saldana was my Psychology professor. He brought much grace to our classroom and I admired him for his eloquence, intelligence and kind manner.
Despite the decades passed, I recall how he in his three piece suit stood in front of the classroom and held our attention.
My condolences on the loss of this wonderful man,
Patricia

Dear Guy,
Although I knew Dr. Saldanha through a small snippet of his life he made a great impression on me.
It is rare these days to meet a true gentleman, and that he truly was. He was always polite, gentle, kind, soft-spoken, and modest about his accomplishments.
He spoke highly of you and was very proud of you.
He obviously had a long, accomplished, well lived life and will be missed.
I am so sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
Lu Moulton
