Wow...just found this posted on facebook. So sorry to hear this news and condolences to the family. I remember the last time I was in Maine almost 5 years ago and stopped by the Legion to see if any of my old friends were there. Enjoyed that part of the night with Bill and Monica.

I am very saddend to hear of Monica's passing. We worked together previously and she was always good for a laugh! I'll always remember her coming into work everyday and saying "What's the good word?" My condolences go out to Bill and her family. She talked about her son and granddaughter often and I know her family meant the absolute world to her. May you all carry her smile and love with you always!

You will always be "Scruffy" to me, it's how I was introduced to you so very long ago, 1982/83, so very long ago we became best friends the first time we met, and stayed that way no matter how much time went by or how many miles were between us. You are one in a million. Your compassion and loyalty to those you love is unexplainable. I will be forever be thankful and grateful for the time we got to spend together in June, September and October. You have always been more than a friend to me, more like a sister. I remember meeting Monica back at Brunswick High. Then after school few years went by and I ran into her again by my late husband Lewis. He worked at Labbe and sons for about 5 years. We would go to her house and have cookouts all the time. Her son Ricky would play with our girls. She was a very kind fun person. She will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to each of you. She has become a loving angel watching over us. RIP.

Sorry that Monica has passed! She fought a terrific battle. She always worked hard at whateer she tackled - like the Youth Activities Elks burger/sausage booth during Heritage Days.
I remember the years that the two of you worked tirelessly all July 4th weekends with her going non-stop despite blisters on her feet! God Bless!

Dear Bill and family, our deepest sympathy. Monica was full of life and when we learned she was sick, she told us she was ready but going to live life to the fullest. We would laugh when we sent Peter his sunflower seeds. She laughed and would make jokes. We should all take a page from her for her bravery through her illness.
