We vividly recall Dr. Russell's unusual gentleness and total comfort in holding our young children and exuding a quieting spirit that relaxed them and enabled an examination to proceed without distress and discomfort. He had that perfect warm touch and unperturbed patience. Dr. Russell so exemplified the dedicated and compassionate physician. Our memory of him lives on with great fondness. Our sympathy to all the family.

It was with much sadness as I read of Dr. Russell's death. As a new young nurse in 1964 I had the privledge of working with him at Augusta General--It didn't take long to realize what a wonderful person he was and what a great pediatrician he was-Always so caring about the staff and the little patients that were entrusted to his care--I can still picture him strolling down the hall in the middle of the night to check on a sick child--I knew then that I wanted him to care for my children--he was always so calm no matter how sick the child-how comforting that was to those parents--May your memories comfort you and may he RIP

Sometimes there are no words to express the feelings of the heart. Your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. Your life will never be forgotten. We pledge to you today, a hallowed place within our hearts, where you’ll always stay. Thank you for your compassion and also for the joy you brought to our lives every day at Kennebec Pediatrics. I feel so blessed to have known you.
Dear Ellen and family. I was so saddened to hear of Dr. Russell’s passing. Surely he will always be as close as a memory, and the God of all comfort will be as close as a prayer.

Ellen - Dr. Russell was our first pediatrician - and he set a very high standard. Julie remembers him as so kind.

We adored him and felt terrible when he had to leave Augusta. He was a fine and compassionate doctor.
