February 20, 2021 | May Blanchard - Portland, Maine -- USA

Dear Kerry, Tony and adored Grandchildren,
Please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences on the passing of your beloved Mother and Grandmother.
I worked with Joycelyn at Sea Road, Cousens and Park Street. I was just out of grad school and completely inexperienced with social work. Your Mom was so helpful and practical in her advice in so many areas. She also had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She had so many stories that cheered people and made us smile.

She and I took many walks after school on Pine Point and your Mom talked of the great love and respect she had for each of you and your spouses. Of course she adored her grandchildren and I am so pleased to see that there have been more grandchildren added to your family. She had such a warmth and sense of deep understanding of others’ suffering.
Sending love and deep, deep sadness.
May Blanchard

Dear Family of Joycelyn
I am very saddened to read of the passing of Joycelyn. She certainly had a busy life so full of wonderful activities that I know she loved. I am the camp counselor "Zip" that taught the Junior Maine Guide skills. Joycelyn was a delight to have in my unit, always full of fun and laughter. For several years after camp we kept in contact and I always enjoyed her humorous letters. As life does to us, it leads us in different directions. I am so sorry that I did not find her and connect. My sincere condolences for your loss of a lovely young woman.

So sad to hear about an old friend from holy cross school. We shared each other's homes many times. My condolences to Joycelyn's family, Ray and Dan and her children and grandchildren. Rest on peace Joycelyn!

Kerri and Tony, I was so saddened to learn about your profound loss. I absolutely adored Joycelyn and spent many wonderful hours with her, chatting and laughing. I worked with her at both KES and at Cousens School and considered her a good friend. I hope that your memories will sustain you as well as the knowledge that she adored you both, and spoke so highly of you and of all of your children as well. Ellen Towne

I remember Joycelyn from Sea Road School. I was a parent and a volunteer in an after school program. She was always willing to listen and offer her experience in dealing with life's happenings. I'm grateful to have known her. Her advice was spot on. Thank you for sharing her with us.

January 24, 2021 | Christine Carter - Falmouth, Maine -- US

We were best friends for 30 years. She was there for me and I was there for her. The loss of that in 2015 was horrible. I wish I could have said goodbye. I hope the family will allow me to say goodbye at the summer service.
Love,
Chrid

Remember Joycelyn with fondness as a colleague at Kennebunkport Consolidated School where we worked for a number of years. Each year a child or two would confuse the two of us, as we resembled each other in looks and stature. It became a bit of a joke between us. I enjoyed chatting with her at lunch and found her to be a warm person. My sympathies to all.

Joycelyn saved me in the 80’s. I was going through a tough time and her counseling got me through it. It wasn’t always serious, we talked about kids a lot. I remember how much she loved hers.
She was a wonderful person, plus absolutely gorgeous.
I’ll forever be thankful for having her in my life.

Kerri and Tony,
It is with sadness that we have learned of your mother's passing. May special memories of happy times together bring you comfort and peace.
We knew Joyce many, many years ago during time shared during our Wells football years. You may or may not remember our family but when I saw your mom's picture, and her BEAUTIFUL smile, in today's paper I just had to reach out to you. You both and our "kids" Amy & Tim were very young at that time. Thinking of that time brings many memories of game days spent together. As is often the case, we lost touch over the years but I will always remember the very special friend I had in Joyce and the times we shared. Fondly, Judy

She spoke of you both and your kids often, and always with tremendous love and pride. I'll always remember Joycelyn with love.

Thinking of you,
Kathy Young

Joycelyn was truly one of the finest persons I knew. We met at Cape Elizabeth Middle School in the 80’s and formed a great friendship. We soon found out that her son, Tony and my son, Geoff were born on the same day, and graduated from Cheverus together. Her wonderful sense of humor was legendary.
I was always have special memories of our time together.
