To Nancy and Richard and Jonathan,

I am so sorry Nancy learning of the loss of your Mother. I can remember you telling me years ago that your Mom had cancer. Her suffering is now over.

Nancy, I have no doubt that your Mom was so very proud of you and all your accomplishments in your professional career as well as your political career. You helped a young Governor from Arkansas become President of the United States. I just can imagine the pride your mother must have felt!!

I firmly believe Nancy, God gives us gifts we just have to take the time to see them. One is the gift of memory.

When my Mother died in January 2006, my children made a collage of pictures of their Grandmother thru the years. It still hangs on my office wall.

May God bless you, Richard and Jonathan during these difficult days. Pat and I love you all.

February 23, 2010 | Larry Davis - Hallowell, Maine -- USA

Nancy & Debbie,
Please accept my most deepest sympathy on losing your Mother. As you know, she was like a second Mother to me as a kid growing up next door to you guys. I could always count on her pointing me in the right direction. I used to stop and see her on my trips to Peaks Island during the summer. She always reminded me of the time I shot an arrow into the air and it hit your plastic pool and how my Dad made me pay for it. I loved her as a second Mom.I would be very pleased to attend any service you plan for her.

Larry

Dear Nancy,
I'm so glad I got to spend time with you and your mother this fall. I have alot of fun memories from our childhood with your mother
and was very fortunate to have such a special
friend and neighbor growing up. Know that your mother felt blessed to have you there
by her side being loved and cared for to the
bitter end.
Love you,

Even though my family moved from next door to Sarah's house before I was born, I still have so many fond childhood memories of her when we would head back over to Portland St. The blueberries, kiddie pool, and games in the yard/driveway of course, are a few. But I also have very distinct memories of each time I saw her when she would give me a HUGE hug (even when I grew to be much taller than her--she didn't seem to notice or mind), kiss me on the cheek, and tell me I was "so [darn] cute!" Her face would light up and her laugh was infectious.

During this sad time, I hope we can all find solace knowing that she enriched our lives with joy and undoubtedly, plenty of humor.

To Nancy and Family: you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

February 23, 2010 | Kathy Nixon Del Rosso - Hicksville, NY -- USA

Dear Nancy and family, Sarah was a force to be reckoned with. Passionate, mighty and feisty in that short little frame!! I have some great memories of being at your home when I was young and watching her make a fuss over the clothes she was making for you. In recent years, her warm embrace and brightness in her eyes the last time we saw each other in Yarmouth on the steps of the Congregational Church. You will have peace in your hearts in the days ahead because you were there for her until the end. So much love to you. Kathy
