I came to Androscoggin County in December of 1979, it was a Northeastern COOP and Sheriff Bureau hired Jeff Harmon and I as Deputy Sheriffs. I was assigned to Al's shift where I learned lessons about life, people, humanity and making coffee, they have served me well throughout my career. Al had a great sense of humor, quiet leadership skills and an understanding of the human condition that few people I have met could equal. I have thought about him often in the past 39 years, and I am saddened by his passing. Until we meet again Al, may God hold you in the palm of his hand!
