July 18, 2017 | Bob Sweet, Jr. - Strasburg, Virginia -- USA

It is impossible to put into words how I already miss my dear friend Walter Parker. I was only six years old when he was married, but I well remember how his life impacted mine over the years. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and he exhibited the love, the kindness, the faithfulness of a friend to all he knew, including me. I was privileged to be with Walter and his family in May when his lifelong friend Floyd Hastings showed some slides of Walter and Blanche, and Floyd's wife Rachel on some of their trips together. It was a sweet time of reminiscing and doing with a family who has mean much to me over my lifetime. I treasure the memories. It is impossible to even calculate the hundreds, perhaps thousands of lives who have been positively touched by this truly great man. He accepted the call of his country and served with distinction in the "Great War" and yet he never lost his gentleness and care for others. Thank you, my dear friend for being such a Godly example to me, and never standing in judgement of others. I miss you. My love to his daughters, Nancy, Carolyn, Glenice and his son Richard. Each of you are very special to me too. God bless you all as you mourn your Dad's passing, but there is no one I can think of who would be more welcomed in heaven that Walter Parker. Somehow, I think he was an angel before he ever arrived! With much love, respect and honor, Bobby Sweet

July 13, 2017 | Hermina Demjanovich Hart - Lisbon Falls, Maine -- United States

I remember Walter from when I was a little girl and needed built up shoes. My father, David Demjanovich, brought me to Parker's Shoe Repair to have them made. Walter did a fantastic job and was so kind and funny that I always looked forward to going there. He continued to extend that friendliness to all he knew throughout the rest of his life! He loved people and never had anything bad to say about anyone. He always looked for the best in people and found it. He will be missed by the whole community where he lived in Lisbon Falls, Maine. Rest in everlasting peace Walter.

July 13, 2017 | Merton Robinson - North Attleboro, MA -- USA

Walter was fine gentleman. Always smiling and never expressing a bad word for anyone. He was a particularly good friend of my Dad who had a store next door to Walter's shoe repair shop. Walter and Blanche are sorely missed at the high school's "Golden Reunion." My sincere condolences to the family on your great loss.
