August 2, 2020 | Lynn and Joe Halperin - Ossining, NY -- USA
Dear Peggy
Lynn and I were sitting with a glass of wine this evening having herring as an appetizer which we haven’t had in a long time. But it lead me to think of Dick as I remembered how much he liked herring. I did a google search to learn that he died on December.
We were both very sad to learn this but at the same time remembered how fond we were of him and of all the wonderful times we had with both of you. I was ready to call but couldn’t find your phone number. My email is joehalperin@gmail.com so please send me your phone number. We still have a Maine contact in that our grandson is going to Bowdoin in 2021 after a gap year in 2020. We have moved a lot but that’s a story for another day.
Very fond regards
Joe (and Lynn too)
January 31, 2020 | Paul Trueworthy - Brunswick, ME -- United States
Dick was a great friend. Because of my past Merchant Marine service he would give me the nautical periodicals he subscribed to when done with them. I am a private pilot too as is Peggy and we would often talk aviation at Tufulios. Once a year he would provide the steamer clams that were cooked at Joe Lessards house when Tufulios was closed at mud season. Both Linda and I will miss him Paul Trueworthy

We are so sorry for your loss. Dick was always a friendly guy and we shared some great conversations at Sugarloaf. We remember fun times with Dick and enjoyed skating at the bog and the hot dogs that Dick provided. There is a special place in heaven for Sugarloafers and Dick is with them.
Thinking of you Peg.

"Dick" was a close cousin to me and the Daniels family. We thoroughly enjoyed his hostings of clam/lobster bakes at Phippsburg along with skiing at Sugarloaf. He had so much knowledge of boats my father and I spent many a weekend looking with him for a boat. He was so patient. My sincere condolences to Peg and Janice.

Peggy,
Dick was a great guy, fun to ski with so many years ago and a caring man. Though we haven’t seen each other in a while we remember many fun times. Our condolences.

Dick was a kind, thoughtful and generous friend. Whether it was as part of our winter "hurling" crew or showing up unannounced at our house with some exotic beer he wanted us to try or just sharing a drink at Tufulio's, he always brightened the scene. He will be sorely missed.
Peggy, we're thinking of you.
