September 15, 2014 | Pam & Paul Little - Lewiston, Maine -- US

I was in disbelief when I saw Jerry's picture in the newspaper's obituary section. Over the years Jerry helped with many projects in our home. He was a highly skilled carpenter and the quality of work was impeccable. He was always willing to lend a helping hand with a friendly and positive attitude. Paul and I (especially me) will miss Jerry.
Our deepest sympathy

My deepest condolences to Uncle Gerry's immediate family. He will be deeply missed. I remember many, many Christmas celebrations and memorable vacations spent at Moosehead Lake with him and his family. He was a talented carpenter and someone who enjoyed making people laugh. I will miss his smile and his good nature. Rest in peace, Uncle Gerry. Love you!

Rest In Peace Uncle Jerry. You have left us way too soon but God wanted you too. He needed a little more laughs in Heaven. You were an amazing person. You made other people feel good about themselves. Your smile was contagious. You will be missed here on earth but the heavens are rejoicing. We will all reunite someday. We love you!!!!

September 11, 2014 | Ed Given - Poland, Maine -- u.s.a.

I was shocked to learn of the passing of a longtime friend,(Gerald A. Mathieu). Jerry and I were breakfast friends for over 40 years dating back to the old steerhouse restaurant on Lisbon St. and most recently at Mc Donalds where Jerry would often walk to for the exercise.
Jerry could always be counted on for a happy greeting, joining into the active discussions of the day, and of course telling a good joke.
Jerry was well known for the quality of his finish wood working skills, his honesty, and happy easy going personality.

Jerry you are one of the good guys. I am honored to have known you. You will be missed.

Aunt Jackie and cousins,

I am very saddened to hear the news of Uncle Jerry's passing. Uncle Jerry had the best laugh and an infectious smile -- and I'll always remember that.

I hope in the days ahead the wonderful memories that you all have will bring you comfort and strength.

Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

With much sympathy,

Sandy and Tom LaFratta

What a shock to all of us on Gerry's passing. Living next door to Gerry for the past 20 years, I always knew tht we were protected by his watchful eye on our house if we were away. Gerry was a very kind and giving man. He liked to joke with me and my children and watched them grow up next door. He has helped us out on many occassions and he will be greatly missed. Our condolences to Jackie and the rest of their family. Our thought's and prayers are with you.

Jerry as my family called him was the most kind, gentle and humorous man. He was an excellent finished carpenter and was always willing to lend a hand. I was shock to see him in the paper. He always gave me the feeling that he was made out of solid rock and would live forever. I will miss him!
My condolence to Jackie and her family, my thoughts and prayers will be with you.

September 11, 2014 | The Leveille - Lewiston, Maine -- USA

There are no words to express our condolences and sadness for you. We were very blessed to move into the Webber Avenue neighborhood living adjacent to the Mathieus. Mr. Mathieu took upmost pride in his property and could always be seen doing a project outside or in the garage. Mr. Mathieu sported a warm smile and was always conversational. My most recent memory of him was observing him patting the cat on his front step from where he would contemplate the next project I am guessing. Our family's prayers are to Mrs. Mathieu, the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and al who will mourn this extremely sad passing.
