February 21, 2016 | Jon Thurston - Searsmont, ME -- United States

Elizabeth, Chuck Boothby just wrote me about Ken's death. I am so sorry I did not hear earlier about his ALS. Ken was a good friend when I was teaching at MVHS and of course a very talented and funny guy. I hope there is a memorial service of some type. Many of us older teachers who left the school years ago would want to come.

May a peace that passes understanding help fill the void left by Ken’s departure . May your memories bring you comfort and warm your hearts in these difficult days. Thinking of you with love and sympathy.

I will miss Ken. He was a wonderful neighbor on Roaring Spout Road, and we always enjoyed talking with him. I can hear his laugh as I write this. It was fun to see him riding his bike everywhere--many times I'd see him coming out of the path to Roaring Spout. I loved his artistic eye. I own one of his photographs and look at it every day. My heart goes out to all of you.

Ken was our neighbor on Roaring Spout Road in Tenants Harbor. He was a unique blend of earth and spirit, and I will miss him.

I am so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. I enjoyed many, many wonderful times with the Martin family during my years in the Rockland area. He was a kind and generous friend and will be missed. My deepest sympathy to his loved ones and my cherished friends.

February 17, 2016 | Kerry and Nancy Sienkiewicz - Milford, NH -- USA

Kerry has so many wonderful memories of Ken including their sailing experience to the Bahamas. We are so very sorry to learn of his passing. He was such a talented individual. We have kept every single Christmas card he made. He will be dearly missed. We would appreciate knowing when the memorial exhibit will be once you have determined the date. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

February 16, 2016 | Linda M. Dolloff Pease - Warren, Maine -- United States

Please accept my deepest condolences to you at the loss of your dad, Sarah, and to all of those special people who loved him. Having just lost my own dad, I understand the hole that is left by his departure from this earth. What a gifted man he was. I worked with him for eight years at Medomak and always respected his talent, his patience, and his quiet dignity. He thoroughly lived on and experienced deeply many elements of this earth. I am certainly blessed to have known and worked with him.
My Mom, Lillian Dolloff, just said to me that she always enjoyed receiving his original Christmas cards every year.
Many blessings of healing and peace to you - most sincerely, Linda M. Dolloff Pease

Mr. Martin was a phenomenal art teacher; truly understanding how creativity evolved in his students and respected every approach they took with little judgement. I'm saddened by this, but am very fortunate to have been a student of his.

Every time I listen to 106.9 WBOK I'll think of you.

May your body rest in peace.
