I just learned of Doug’s passing today, and words to adequately express my heartfelt condolences to everyone in the Johnson family escape me. I had the great pleasure of working with Doug at Lotus in Cambridge, MA in the late 1980s. Although we weren’t in touch since then, he will always hold a special place in my mind and in my heart. I found Doug to be a uniquely delightful human being in every sense of the word. Whenever I was in his company, he brightened my day and lifted me up. His intelligence, his joie de vivre, his remarkable humor, and his incredibly bright spirit left an indelible imprint on my life for which I’ll always be grateful. You were an amazing man, my friend. Rest in peace…

To the entire Johnson Family - my heartfelt condolences. It is so hard to find the words today. I am truly heartbroken at the loss of dear Doug. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers at this immensely difficult time. I had the absolute pleasure to work with Doug at Lotus so many years ago. He was the person you could always count on to lighten the mood, be silly and just be an amazing and supportive colleague. He was truly part of our work family. He called me sis, I called him bro - family! I will always hold dear so many memories of time spent with Doug. Rest in peace my sweet friend!

To Mr & Mrs Johnson, Bob, Greg, Braedon & Amelia,

Our sincerest condolences to you all over the loss of Doug. We are sincerely heartbroken and have no words. Doug is and will always be our friend, confidant, brother. My family is with your family at this very sad time, grieving beside you. Your sorrow is our sorrow. We have so many fond memories too numerous to count and we embrace these now. Doug made a difference for us in the way he lived and laughed. Always laughter, fun and good times helping us see life as it should be embraced by the love of good friends & the humorous irony life brings to us all. We are sad for his loss and will miss him greatly.
