My condolences to you all, and also my admiration for all you and Don's siblings have done this past year to sustain Don's humor up to the last, with your combined forces of love and will defying all medical expectations.
Don's dry wit and pure friendship remain alive in my heart as I'm sure they do with all who were blessed to know him.

Such a joy to know you and your family for the years since we've met. Donald was always that quiet intellectual that Stephen so enjoyed having long conversations with. Yet they also shared that dry 'Maine style' sense of humor that first shows itself with a small twinkle of the eye.
We remember him as a devoted father and husband, caring and conscientious friend, smart and interested in others (and the way they think). He shall be missed, but our memories of Donald are full of joy!

Miriam - we wanted to let you know we were thinking of you and your girls and sending all our love. I have lovely faded memories of all of us in CaptIva and Donald loving to make that long flight down. I know chloe has wonderful memories of staying with you in Maine. It is hard to believe that Don has gone West as we recognize fellow QB members when they leave us. He was a most friendly fellow and an avid aviator. Don will be dearly missed at the Portland Hangar QB meetings and I extend my deepest sympathy to his family and friends at this difficult time. We grieve the untimely passing of a truly fine gentleman, husband, father, aviator. Don's family have many fine memories of the good times and love they shared. I will always remember Don as one of the most caring and dedicated members I ever worked with in the Civil Air Patrol. He will be sadly missed and always revered for the wonderful gentleman he was. Don's friendship enriched my life. He was always smiling, never disparaged, held back but always had worthy thoughts and actions when invited to contribute.
