September 3, 2020 | Elizabeth Herrick - Lewiston, Maine -- United States

Oh Donna, I will so miss you being around the corner ready to share stories and memories of our school days and beyond. The last Girls of 68 gathering I went to was at your house when I saw Milly Mann for the final time. Since we both got the extreme introvert gene, our meetings weren't frequent but whether a play at The Public Theatre or lunch at Sam's or Taber's our time together was always special. You lived a life of service to family, friends and all your "kids". There are adults among us who are smarter, kinder and more well mannered because you set those examples in their elementary years. So rest easy my Most Courteous friend (as voted by your ELHS classmates) guilt, grief and worry free. Until we meet again, find peace in heavens'hands. Liz (Prout Murray) Herrick

Remembering and celebrating Donna, a gifted and beloved teacher, a trusted and treasured friend to many, a caring person who was so devoted to her family -- her devotion to her loved ones was so inspiring. My father Michael loved her so dearly. May she rest in peace, I am so saddened by her passing -- extending love and care to her family.

To Donna’s family:
My deepest condolences for the loss of your beloved Donna. I met her while working for the Falmouth School Department and over the years we became friends. She never failed to make me laugh and encouraged me to write down the stories of the fairies and gnomes who reside in my granddaughter’s garden. Because of her I became a virtual storyteller sharing stories with others. She was creative and her love of animals was a constant in her life ... always trying to find homes for animals in need. I will miss her laughter, words of wisdom, and sweet stories of her grandnieces. I hope she and Micheal are dancing in heaven!

I will never forget you, Michael and the fur babies. You are all together at last.

September 3, 2020 | Carol Ritter - Portland, Maine -- USA

Mrs. Gibbs was my daughter's and mine most favorite teacher in all the world! My daughter came from Russia to join our family. She had Mrs. Gibbs for 2 years and Mrs. Gibbs just loved on my daughter and was very understanding of her difficult acclimation to a new country, new language, new life! There is a special place for Mrs. Gibbs in heaven!

September 2, 2020 | Gail Jordan - Hudson, WI -- USA

I am so saddened to hear of Donna's passing although I know she has joined the very people she loved most. She was married to my brother, Mike, and loved their life together along with their fur children, Gus and Molly. We both shared our love of teaching, family, and dogs. She had the sweetest spirit, so very kind and thoughtful. I loved her creativity, hearty laugh, and generous heart. She will be dearly missed.

Del,
I was saddened to learn of Donna’s passing.

Donna attended and graduated ELHS the same year as my sister Heidi and were friends, like ourselves in close proximity in “Home Room.”

Your family is in our hearts as our father recently passed away.
