December 20, 2019 | James Heckman - Hampden, Maine -- United States

I met Bill when I showed up to the fairground looking for other blacksmiths. I asked if I could join in Friday night sessions he puffed up and he said make something. I made a few nails and made a friend for life. While I have been away for a few years I would come and visit the fair when I could he always had a smile for me and a strong handshake. He will be sadly missed and all smiths should ring the anvil in his honor before making anything for luck. teacher, mentor, and friend your pipe smoke and the stories will be missed. As he would say, I told my wife the other day I said, Armond :) Heavens Ironwork and woodwork just moved up a notch.

Linda, we were so very sorry to hear about Bills Passing. He was a great man, and I am sure will be missed by all who knew him.
I remember him letting me go into the pen with your beautiful puppies, and Bob always enjoyed talking with him.
I am so sorry, and just to say we really miss our Leavitt Rd neighbors. They were the best we’ve ever had.
Sincerely,
Bob & Cindy Coulombe

December 13, 2019 | Ben Johnson - Tin Top, Texas -- United States

My wife and I have many fond memories of Bill. He made several wooden spoons for us, which we still use to this day and we think of him each time we use them. He taught us both how to fly fish at an MMTA conference in the 1990's. I still use his technique when fishing. He loved our Texas chili "fixins." Our heartfelt condolences to Linda and Bill's family. God speed Bill on your final journey.

Sir Bill was always an adventure to talk with, ask advice of or just hear about his stories. I always enjoyed his candor and no BS approach to life. He will be missed. My thoughts are with his family and his friends on Togus Pond.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Forbes Family! My heart breaks for the fast and furious ride you were on with Bill.
It was a pleasure to have met Bill. He certainly was “one of a kind.” I am lucky enough to be surrounded by his son (Andrew) and grandson (Alex) whom I believe will carry on his sense of humor, wit, craftsmanship and kindness!
