Mrs. Blanchette, Denise and Family,
Regretfully, I recently heard about the passing of Mr. Blanchette. Please accept my sincerest condolences. Mr. Blanchette was kind enough to give me a job in the redemption center. As a teenager and wet behind the ears, Mr. Blanchette was always very pleasant, funny and thoughtful to me. Denise is right, he was a very hard worker. I want to thank the Blanchette family for being a pillar in the community and assure you that Mr. Blanchette will not be forgotten. Again, my sincerest condolences.

My dad was the hardest working man I have ever known.Dad would work all day, then he would relieve my mother in the store so she could take care of us. Dad loved working and seeing his customers. He loved my mother, still opened doors for her,wow after 55 years of marriage.I know dad loved all of his children and was proud of all of us.He deeply missed his Daughter Doris that went to see her savior in 1992 and now I know they are together In Heaven. Dad I miss you so much,I will see you when my time is to be.

December 3, 2014 | Jackie - Lewiston, Me -- Us

Mr B always made great Italian sandwiches and he knew I never wanted tomatoes but he never failed every time I went in He would always ask me the same question, Which side of the sandwich do you want your tomatoes on? I grew up on Webster Street and also lived a few houses down from the store and I enjoyed talking with him every time I went in, he loved to joke with us the whole time we were there, I will miss him tremendously, our condolences to the entire family, he will be greatly missed.

I grew up down the street from Blanchette's and really never went in enough times to know Marcel at heart, but I can tell you this from what I saw---He was one of the most hardest working man that I have ever known. He always asked how my mother was doing. I remember going in to the original store next door and buying ice cream. The Federal Government should take notice to small businesses like Blanchette's Pizza and Variety. I will say it again. Marcel Blanchette was the most hardest working and honest person that I have ever known--period.
Rest in peace Mr. Blanchette.

December 2, 2014 | Bert & Dot Gosselin - Sabattus, Maine -- USA

Lorraine, Denise and family: So sorry for your lost. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Though he is physically gone, he will live on in your hearts forever. Denise, You asked me if the hurt gets better, I am not sure if it does but you do learn to deal with it. I think of my Dad & Mom everyday. I still think of calling Mom and then realize I can just talk to her without the phone. Just keep him in your hearts and he will be with you always. Heartfelt Sympathies, Bert & Dot

Many fond memories of ordering pizza on Sunday nights from the original pizza shop next door.

Growing up with Doris and Bert..

Being blessed to have had your help in helping me to get going in my business at such a young age..

Selling Ice for you at a Grateful Dead concert, when it was so hot out, that by the time I was getting to the last bags to sell, they were just water..but those folks didn't care..

So many memories of a man I admired..

Rest in peace Uncle..

Bob Robitaille
