To the family of Richard Viles Beedy- I am very saddened to learn about Richard's death four years after it happened. We had exchanged Beedy family information for several years, and then I set aside my research to pursue other family research. My deepest sympathy to his family for their loss. I now wish that I had stayed in touch with him.

Hey Coach.. Man, did we have a blast playing Basketball for you! Remember Norris, Childs, Henderson, Rider and the rest of the guys from those years! You were a fun Coach and a Great Teacher! My deepest condolences to the family of R.Vies Beedy. Dick was a mentor, teacher,brother and a friend to me. I was very fortunate to spend time with Dick on numerous occasions at camp on the North Branch. I caught my largest brook trout ever at Little Jim on a fly that he tied for me with him in the bow of my canoe after I had hooked him with a fly in his cheek. I'll never forget the way he reacted to that incident in such a kind and patient way.He was a great friend and one that shaped the man I am today.God Bless.

Connie, I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you at this difficult time.Dick was a good man and I have many good memories of my times with him.I always knew how I stood with Dick. There are never any easy words. I carry very fond memories of Dick (and the rest of the family) from summers spent at Mt Blue. Although I havent seen him in years, time and distance have not made this less painful so I can only send my very best thoughts to his loved ones.

...so sorry to hear about the Beedy family's loss. I will never forget my years of teaching with Richard at Dirigo, his wonderful smile and laugh, and his participation in my sex equity class (he was a lively, contributing capative student!). Mr.Beedy was a great teacher and cared about his students. The football games in the gym where he would play quaterback were some of the best Phys.Ed. classes. We had lot's of fun.
